Q-STAR will contribute to the development of quantum technology in Japan by providing global leadership that promotes its industry and strengthens its international competitiveness.
FREMONT, CA: The development of quantum technology and computing is readily progressing in advanced countries worldwide, and at the center of this development is Japan. To improve its capability regarding content technology, 24 companies from the Founders Association of the Council for New Industry Creation Through Quantum Technology joined forces to establish a new council, under the name The Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance for Revolution, or Q-STAR.
Considering that the quantum age is now approaching and expectations are now growing worldwide to realize a safe and secure lifestyle, Japan aims to strengthen its position and become an industry leader in technology. Q-STAR will contribute to this with global leadership promoting Japanese industry and strengthening its international competitiveness. The council will also invite the participation of various players in diverse industries that support the countries objectives and initiatives. These private sector entities will also collaborate with the local governments and academia to promote this initiative and foster innovation in Quantum Technology. Q-STAR is expected to reassess the basic principles and laws related to content technology, carry out surveys, and make recommendations on its application across different industrial structures. The council aims to establish a globally recognized platform that actively promotes collaboration between various organizations to work around Quantum Technology. The committee will also investigate, plan, and develop proposals for the development of HR to utilize quantum technology comprehensively, collaborate with quantum0related companies in Japan and overseas, and raise public awareness about the same. Q-STAR will also house several sub-committees that will investigate IT, communication technology, quantum biology, medicine, and other application areas. The subcommittee will also oversee the creation of new industries that will leverage quantum amplitude estimations and optimization. With Japan’s strong commitment to developing nascent technology, it is evident that the country will be at the forefront of quantum technology development and will inspire its peers to foster innovation in their industries.
