AI and ML: Reshaping the Talent Acquisition Process in 2019

Artificial IntelligenceThe state of the workforce is changing, or one can rather term it as advancing with the emerging technologies. Though many are quick to vilify Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning technologies, on the contrary, these technologies are vital to performing any task. AI is indeed a valuable tool that can search and identify the right candidates for suitable jobs and all other functions that can autonomously handle thereby leaving human personnel to focus on the “human” aspects of the occupations, such as feedback, management and more.

AI capabilities can help individuals in performing manual tasks such as data collection which is no longer on the employee’s table which will help them to concentrate all their time to maximize human work potential. Below mentioned are few areas wherein AI can be integrated.

• Sourcing: Online databases like LinkedIn, Indeed have vast amounts of information and digging from that pool can be time consuming and unproductive. By programming keywords and phrases automation technology can scan online job boards and search for the right talent and find an employee who is well suited for the job and fulfill all the requirements of an organization.

• Recruiting: Recruitments can be easily handled by machines especially the resumes and application review. AI can scan these documents and assess a candidate based on the person’s past experiences, skill sets and other crucial information available. Once this checklist is done, humans can take over and focus on evaluating other factors like behavior, temperament, and interests.

These are a few sets of tasks that can be performed with the integration of technology. Once these are achieved, it leaves ample time for managers to focus on more severe factors like:

1. Onboarding Process: The onboarding process can be subjective and is multifaceted. HR leaders can develop a streamlined and customized approach to onboarding new talent. Providing a thorough onboarding process helps the employee to get adjusted to the corporate environment as quickly as possible.

2. Feedbacks: Although AI can automate responses for quick inquiries they cannot replace the human touch when there is a need to discuss larger and complex issues. The tedious tasks are taken care of by the machines; HR leaders have ample time to make sure that the feedbacks are discussed, both for and by the employee.

AI will prove helpful in workforce planning across all the industries. Therefore integrating AI and other smart technologies into the corporate environment will help enterprises to yield higher ROI on their businesses. Machinery can assist in elevating the potentials of the workforce beyond what they are currently achieving thereby maximizing human potential.
