How Is Payment Technology Still Transforming The Payment Activities in 2020?

CIOAdvisor Apac | Friday, June 12, 2020

The payment technology is dominated well by mobile wallets and mobile PoS devices. The future of mobile payment technology involves automated payment capabilities.

FREMONT, CA: The modern payment processing ecosystem is a complicated network of consumers, banks, and payment processors. The past years have seen a significant shift from the physical payments to the digital.

Smart devices, online sales, and mobile payments are transforming the way consumers find and pay for the goods and services. They are also changing how the payment processors accept, secure, and facilitate the payments.

As mobile payment technology is evolving rapidly, keeping up with the latest trends can be challenging. Below given innovations are known to shape the future of how consumers make payments and how mobile payment gateways enable those transactions.

Mobile wallets are one of the fastest-growing trends concerning the destiny of mobile payment technology mainly because mobile wallets provide speed, security, and convenience for the consumers.

While mobile wallet payments only said $75 billion in 2016, it is forecast to reach $500 billion by 2020, representing around 80% over five years.

Payment preference isn't the only thing that is going on mobile. Mobile point of sale (mPOS) units is dedicated wireless tools that replicate conventional cash registers and the sale terminals.

mPOS units allow a smooth, space-saving, wire freeway for the merchants to accept payment. The flexibility of mPOS will enable merchants to finalize the transactions wherever the customers are.  The consumers don't need to take their merchandise to a cashier; besides, they can only checkout with any employee.

Mobile point of sale devices is not just for brick and mortar locations. They permit the merchants the freedom to conduct business virtually anywhere. Some of the places merchants can use mPOS to help companies include farmers' markets, concerts, coffee carts, craft fairs, and trade shows. The flexibility of the mobile payment and mPOS is creating a very wireless economy.

The future of mobile payment technology dominates by mobile wallets and mobile point of sale devices. The organizations are already seeing the trends starting. However, the distant future of mobile payment comprises automated payment capabilities.
