Medical Care made more Convenient through Virtual Care

The evolving lifestyles of the people have brought about the increased need for medical care today. Due to the growing stress and living habits of the people, a significant investment is made into the healthcare sector every year. This increasing demand cannot always be met with proper facilitation of health care amenities and doctors. In light of this situation, it becomes mandatory to change the outlook of medical facilities with the use of technology.

Virtual care and telehealth have brought about a groundbreaking change in the field of healthcare. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has suggested the use of technology to make medical help more readily available and affordable. The proposition of the CMS for the Medicare Advantage will be beneficial for the members of this program to have convenient access to medical aid through various applications and telecommunications technology. This program will aid the beneficiaries to engage in virtual visits from their homes, thus saving them the time required to travel and the hassles of moving itself. The CY 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule will provide to pay for the services needed by the patients and will also provide for easy reimbursements. This will help in boosting the telehealth services significantly. The healthcare organizations can provide better and quicker medical support to all those affected by chronic diseases and can inform them of their appointments, medical requirements, and diet recommendations. This improves the health of the patients and decreases the costs of being admitted to the hospital continuously. All patients can peruse healthcare in the comforts of their homes as the on-call nurses can not only guide the patients over the virtual platform but can immediately connect to a specialist to solve any queries of the patients instantly. The virtual care works in domains of store-and-forward where the medical history of the patient can be stored over applications and used for later reference by the doctors. The patients can also engage in live audio-visual interaction with the medical practitioner via the telecommunication system, which is quite a time-saver and extremely helpful. The method of remote patient monitoring (RPM) can help the medical service providers to collect information about a patient from any location. The mobile health (MHealth) software is also beneficial as it allows the transmission of healthcare, public health practices, and awareness about medical conditions over mobile communication devices.

The efficiency, swiftness, and cost-effectiveness of virtual care and telehealth have made the use of technology a much-needed requirement in meeting the medical demands of the people worldwide.
