The Why and Must of Integrating the Latest Digital Trends

Digital TransformationConvenience has become a must-have factor in determining the value of any service or product, especially in the healthcare domain. Driven by the rising needs for an enhanced customer experience healthcare sector is experiencing a huge shift and just like other industries, digital transformation trends have no signs of slowing down in 2019 and are helping to lead a safer, healthier, and more productive life.

1. Cloud Computing

As hospitals are going digital and outsourcing all their time-consuming chores such as record-keeping to cloud providers, they are no longer worried about finding a new space for their patients’ paper-based record files. Cloud services have enabled medical institutions to focus more on delivering quality healthcare to the patients. Also, Cloud computing has proven to be an effective platform in terms of data privacy and security as medical data theft is a subject of concern. Data breach in the ongoing battle, therefore, medical institutions must handover their reliable data to the trusted cloud providers only.

2. Artificial Intelligence

With Artificial intelligence in the picture, there is no more wait to collect the results. AI machines enable doctors to predict life-threatening diseases early on and recommend the best source of treatment required in each particular situation. The technology is becoming more effective due to the consistent stream of patient data. AI has lots of potentials and offerings in the medical industry, but it is yet to be fully realized.

3. Mobile Digital Healthcare

As the inquiries and one-time consultations with a medical professional get clear over the phone, patients enjoy a convenient medical experience which is free of unnecessary burdens like booking an appointment or commuting long distances.  Mobile applications enable individuals to automatically schedule check-ups based on the patient’s needs thereby saving lots of time.

4. Blockchain

The rise in Blockchain technology adoption has facilitated a private and secure process of knowledge which is an essential and mandatory need of healthcare sector. For instance, a doctor who’s on a medical visit can be provided with the patient’s file via a secure system that is accessible to all the parties. Information can be kept anonymous, enabling patients and doctors to agree on providing data for research, without breaching GDPR and HIPAA standards. The blockchain is proving to be a necessity for healthcare providers and is increasingly adopted by them due to the combined benefits of integrating cloud-based computing and wearable IoT medical devices.

Digital transformations are blowing minds as one is heading into 2019. These technological advances are providing a better future in the healthcare realm as patients always opt for the most reliable, convenient and trusted healthcare available. Hence, the technologies mentioned above are worth keeping an eye on and integrating it into the existing system will soon become a must.
