Cybersecurity LandscapeCybersecurity landscape is evolving rapidly. The advent of cutting-edge technologies is the driver of the change. On the one hand, technology has enabled businesses to avail real-time security, on the other; it also has led to the emergence of new cyber threats capable of impacting a wider range of IT systems. IT management platforms are currently required to get themselves updated and keep an eye on the upcoming trends to adapt accordingly

IoT Devices will Remain a Pain

Professionals across IT vertical are well aware of the vulnerability of IoT devices to cyber threats. In the proximate future, this vulnerability tends to widespread to non-traditional targets like pacemakers which give access to crucial healthcare data. Hackers will be on the lookout for more such IoT targets that are usually not monitored or updated with security patches giving them access to central data repository to carry out malicious activities. A rise in critical operational technology and infrastructural security threats is also evident.

Cloud Security Continues to be a concern

With more and more business applications migrating towards cloud platform and embracement of the SaaS engagement model has led to need to enhance cloud security. Organizations are on a quest of solutions that can address these security drawbacks with efficiency. They can go for outsourcing security services for applications that fall out of reach of their IT departments as these are ones that are most likely to be hit by cyber attacks. There exist various leaders in the industry that offer holistic cybersecurity services which small enterprises can opt for.

Data Regulations To Go Widespread

Recently introduced GDPR is an example of data regulations that got implemented in Europe. Such regulations are evident to go widespread across other geographical landscapes as they provide users the complete control of their data. It will become a need for organizations across the world to implement or follow data regulations to improve data privacy and security. Companies will focus more on maintaining compliance with new regulations.

The upswing in Security Integration

As corporate networks have gone perimeter-less, the need to integrate cybersecurity practices has also gone upswing. Businesses will be focusing more on integrating and improving their security management tools so that they can effectively manage their digital assets residing on-premise, cloud platform, and remote devices.
